Michael Pollan’s: “Don’t Buy Any Food You’ve Ever Seen Advertised” Interview on Democracy Now

He is author of several books about food, including The Botany of Desire, The Omnivores Dilemma and his latest, In Defense of Food: An Eaters Manifesto.

In light of what he calls the processed food industries co-option of sustainability and its vast spending on marketing, Pollan advises to be wary of any food that’s advertised.

From Editor: Hope this video gives ammunition to the fight against the industrial agricultural complex. Slowly we must wake up to the real causes of all the increases we are seeing world wide of cancers, auto immune diseases, cardiovascular disease, etc.

The cause is directly related to what we eat and the poisons that we are allowing these huge corporations to sell us. All we have to do is stop supporting these companies with the dollars we spend. We have the ultimate power at check out. Become an informed consumer and together we can get out of the mess we have created.

I have also included a nice image that makes clearer the representation Monsanto enjoys with the US Federal Government. Conflict of interest alarm bells should be ringing with a list such as this. Just one more thing to keep in the back of our heads when we are presented with the notion that governments have our best interests. ‘Who are they really working for’ we should be asking. Us or Monsanto?
