“…This documentary reveals Canada’s darkest secret – the deliberate extermination of indigenous (Native American) peoples and the theft of their land under the guise of religion. This never before told history as seen through the eyes of this former minister (Kevin Annett) who blew the whistle on his own church, after he learned of thousands of murders in its Indian Residential Schools…”
What happened in Canada to the indigenous population is not ancient history. This continued well into the 60’s, certainly far from ‘ancient’ history. The surviving victims still walk among us, still live with the memories of what was done to them. One lady recounts being “taken by terrorists” referencing the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). The emotional and psychological scars are still with us in the minds of the people who can actually call Canada there ‘home and native land.’
If anyone sees the native people in their current state today they can begin to have an understanding as to what it is they are looking at; the aftermath of genocide. That one revelation alone will change the way we see, feel, and interact with the true natives of this land.
